Homegrown Peach Pie + Owl Brewing Package

We at Barn Owl Brewing are pleased to assist in their annual ‘Bake the World a Better Place’ pie extravaganza.  Our affiliation with COFB began even before we opened our doors to the public.  They approached us to produce a craft brew using their past best before date bread.  This resulted in Breaking Bread Amber Ale, which has been an ongoing success at our establishment.  As we replace up to a third of our malt bill with bread, we are able to donate $1000 back to COFB for each tank (6.5 hectaliter) sold entirely through our lounge.  The good people at COFB approached us to act as celebrity chefs and create a recipe for our favourite pie in support of their Bake the World a Better Place campaign.  So Gary and I have created a recipe, using peaches from Tim's tree – when we find a celebrity to collaborate with us, we will let you know.

Both Gary and Tim are long term residents of Kelowna. We are committed to continuing our brewery as a relaxing and enjoyable community gathering place. The response among locals and Kelowna in general has been humbling. As a result of this we continue to give back to our community. We support the Food Bank as mentioned above, but also contribute to Mamas for Mamas, the Kelowna Foundry, Indian Residential School Survivors, school district 23, St. Andrew’s church, Owl Buy You a Beer Board, KGH foundation, buying local with owner’s tips earned during the Covid shutdown, and numerous other charity events and sponsorships of community minded businesses and organizations.
